You will be picked up from Arusha by your professional driver-guide and begin your safari with a drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Tarangire is renowned for its towering baobab trees and the Tarangire River, which draws large numbers of wildlife throughout the year. During the dry season, animals migrate from the Maasai Steppe in search of water, creating excellent game-viewing opportunities. Expect to see large herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and diverse birdlife. After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often described as the Eighth Wonder of the World. This vast volcanic caldera supports over 120 species of mammals, including the Big Five. It is one of the best places in Africa to spot the endangered black rhinoceros, along with large populations of lions, buffalo, elephants, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, antelope, and numerous bird species. After a rewarding game drive, ascend from the crater and return to Arusha in the afternoon, marking the end of your safari.
