Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park OR Tarangire National Park +

You will be picked up from Arusha by your driver/guide and proceed to either Lake Manyara National Park or Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch. Lake Manyara Game Drive: Lake Manyara is a photographer’s paradise, famous for its tree-climbing lions resting in acacia trees. The park is also a birdwatcher’s haven, home to large flocks of flamingos, birds of prey, and colorful species such as the lilac-breasted roller. Tarangire Game Drive: Tarangire is defined by the Tarangire River, attracting vast numbers of animals during the dry season. The landscape features giant baobab trees and supports rare species such as the Greater Kudu, Fringe-Eared Oryx, and Ashy Starling. After the game drive, proceed to Karatu for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Lake Manyara / Tarangire – Serengeti National Park +

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying a scenic game drive en route. Pass through misty highland forests where wildlife sightings may include buffalo, baboons, elephants, and leopards. Optional stops (at extra cost): Maasai Boma Visit Olduvai Gorge Arrive in Central Serengeti for an afternoon game drive among vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, giraffes, elephants, and top predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Day 3: Serengeti Central – Serengeti North +

After breakfast, depart for Northern Serengeti, following the migration route. Drive across the Togoro Plains and through the Mbuzi Mawe kopjes, experiencing dramatic changes in scenery—from open plains to wooded hills and rocky outcrops. Wildlife sightings range from small antelope to large elephant and giraffe herds. Arrive in the northern Serengeti in the afternoon. Dinner and Overnight: Nyikani Kogatende Camp

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti North – Mara River Crossing +

Spend the full day exploring Northern Serengeti, focusing on the Mara River and key migration corridors. The Lobo Hills, Bologonja, and Wogakuria areas host large concentrations of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, predators, and migrating herds. The Mara River itself is home to hippos and Nile crocodiles. With patience and luck, you may witness the dramatic wildebeest river crossing, one of the most intense wildlife events on Earth. Dinner and Overnight: Nyikani Kogatende Camp

Day 5: Serengeti North – Central Serengeti +

Enjoy a game drive while traveling back from Kogatende to Seronera (Central Serengeti) via a different route. This journey offers excellent opportunities to observe changing vegetation zones and wildlife species unique to each area of the Serengeti ecosystem. Arrive in Central Serengeti in the evening. Dinner and Overnight: Serengeti Sound of Silence

Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area +

Enjoy a final Serengeti game drive before heading towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The route provides further chances to spot wildlife missed earlier, including large predator sightings and massive plains game herds. Later in the day, arrive in Karatu for dinner and overnight. Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha +

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. This vast caldera is home to over 120 species of mammals, including the complete Big Five. Ngorongoro offers one of the best chances to see the endangered black rhinoceros, alongside hippos, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, antelope, and a high density of predators. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha.
